Course Description
*** Tribal Sovereignty today is a term that must be discussed and thoroughly understood. Tribal leaders and officers must draft and articulate tribal policy with the vision of protecting and increasing their own tribe’s sovereignty. Policies that do not spring from such forethought will endanger the continued existence of tribes today and in the future. *** Montana & Associates have developed this course to allow tribal officials and other officers to participate in a course that highlights and emphasizes the sovereignty of tribes and it’s historical perspective. *** The United States Supreme Court has recently handed down two (2) cases that attempt to terminate the Tribe’s judicial branches – tribal courts, consequently it is imperative that tribal leaders, and other officers begin to process of promoting a legislative fix to overturn the severe ramifications of these two (2) cases. An important seminar for all tribal officials.
